Perhaps the most impressive of the ADV electronics showings of the entire show is SENA, who has produced a complete set of integrated recording and communication devices, with a little surprise. They've also extended their hand towards two of ADVMoto's favorite world riders, Simon and Lisa Thomas of 2RidetheWorld.com SENA provided Simon and Lisa with the two new and fully equipped BMW's seen here. Much thanks to SENA for supporting not only the ADV product market, but community as well. SENA.com
SENA's biggest buzz maker at the 2015 show is their new noise cancelling SMART HELMET. We got a chance to try it on and was really impressed. The "ambient" mode allows you to hear what's going on outside the helmet and the sound cancelling more blocks outside sound. It really works. In ambient mode you can have a conversation, but in noise cancelling mode, all you can see is lips moving.
Coupled with a good amplifier, large comfortable ear cups and clear Bluetooth connection, speaking, getting directions or listening to music is a breeze. We're really looking forward to testing this new technology. Last note on the helmet is it's SENA produced. No OEM here! SENA.com
The SENA 10C is a wonderful integrated camera and recording unit, and one of the first to combine both. SENA.com
SENA's booth occupied a good footprint and had not only product on show, but more than a few of our favorite riders as well. SENA.com
Finally, at a nicely affordable price of 120 dollars, the SENA PRISM TUBE is a light weight lip-stick style camera with load of features. SENA.com
Overall the industry days have been a great experience at the 2015 AIMExpo with some old and new faces. The growth of ADV in North America is still fueled by companies and individuals passionate about riding and also fulfilling the needs of riders which have been ignored for so long.
Looking ahead, we hope to see the new Africa Twin on display in the US sometime this year, and perhaps some new bike models coming from EICMA this December. Stay tuned again for more of the latest from ADVMoto!
