HUMM Granite Mountain Arizona 2018
We are very pleased to announce the 1st HUMM in western USA, in the rugged central mountain landscapes of Arizona. A unique 2-day motorcycle orienteering / navigation challenge, the HUMM has also been described as an off-road motorcycle scavenger hunt.
There is no set course, so you make your own adventure! Winning demands strategy, teamwork, riding and navigation skills and pure fun! "The best 48 hours of my life! (apologies to my wife!)"
Test your map reading and navigation skills, find hidden secrets, and enjoy fabulous riding. The trails and roads are amazing, the weather is perfect, the scenery is breath-taking, and the people are wonderful. Come along and bring your friends - if you can handle the competition!
Granite Mountain is located near the historic town of Prescott, Arizona. Prescott has nearly 700 buildings and objects in the National Register of Historic Places, more than any other community its size in Arizona. Prescott forms part of the tri-cities, and together with Prescott Valley and the Chino Valley, the area has a population of over 100,000 – a city with all the facilities for a fantastic event, but enough of on Old West feel to provide a once in a lifetime adventure! There's a wide variety of accommodations to suit all budgets, from camping in pine forests, to RV parks by the shores of alpine lakes, to quirky boutique hotels on historic Whiskey Row. There are many restaurants, art galleries, museums and shops.
Obviously, the off-road trails are fantastic (see one of the views above), but there's lots of other things to do! If you'd like to bring your non-riding significant other and family, the Prescott valley and Northern Arizona offer an adventure for all ages.
Possible activities include hiking, golfing, swimming, kayaking, and boating. Just a couple of hours drive north is one of the great wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon!
If you have a little extra time you can venture to the lively ghost town of Jerome, through the red rock wonders of Sedona, and up through the largest contiguous Ponderosa pine forest in the world to Flagstaff, before traveling north to the canyon.
