2015 Hare Scramble Championship Series Supplemental Rules

- RACE PROCEDURE

All events shall run a designated number of laps. The "Pro, A & B" class approximate overall time limit shall be three hours with a minimum of 2 ½ hours. No event should run longer than 3 ½ hours. "C" class riders overall time limit will be a minimum of 1 ½ hours. GP Meets must advertise the course length and time.
All Championship Hare Scrambles tracks must be a minimum of five (5) miles long, except GP meets.

Each wave should start at one minute intervals. The "Pro" class will start in the first wave, followed by the remaining "A" classes. Followed by "B" classes and "C" classes. Start procedure will be determined by individual promoters and based upon safe starting practices. No straddling the front wheel. Complete classes should be combined to start fewer waves if mass start procedure is used.

The first rider to complete the designated number of laps will receive the checkered flag and his exact time (to the nearest second) of the finish shall be recorded. All subsequent riders shall be given the checkered flag and their exact finish times to be recorded. In order to be considered a finisher, a rider must complete at least 50% of the laps of the winner of his/her class.

Overall scoring (as well as class scoring) shall be based on total elapsed time (from the start to the time of finish) and total laps completed. It therefore may be possible that the first rider to receive the checkered flag may not be the overall winner.

In order to be eligible for Championship points, a rider must finish in the top 20 of his/her class.

- START PROCEDURE

Starting procedures will be explained at Riders Meeting.
Riders, pit crew members, machines and equipment are not permitted on the starting line until authorized by the race official.

Riders shall line up on their assigned starting row on a first come basis when directed by the race official. Events with Baja style starts (single file or fewer than complete class waves) shall line up in numerical order.

- PROGRAM

At each event, all Championship classes must be run as listed in the Supplemental Regulations including class displacement. At the promoter's option, addition support classes may be run. If support classes are offered, they must be run separate from the Championship program.
Riders finishing in the top 10 of the preceding year's Championship Hare Scrambles series are designated as "Pro" riders for the following year. Pro riders are eligible for Overall and "Pro" awards.

Any "B" rider finishing in the top 20 Overall results must advance to the "A" class effective January 1 of the following year. "B" riders finishing in the top four of each "B" class and receiving notification of the advancement must ride "A" effective January 1 of the following year. The above advancement procedure will not apply to classes with less than the minimum of five (5) riders listed in the Championship year end point standing. Year-end review of the results by AMA staff and/or the rider appeal process may further reduce the number of riders advanced.

"C" riders finishing in the top four of each "C" class and receiving notification of the advancement must ride "B" effective January 1 of the following year. The above advancement procedure will not apply to classes with less than a minimum of five (5) riders listed in the year end point standing. Year-end review of the results by AMA staff and/or the rider appeal process may further reduce the number of riders advanced.
The Super Senior and Masters classes overall time limit is 2 hours minimum and shall not exceed 2 ½ hours on the Championship "B" course, except in GP meets.

- CHAMPIONS

At each event, the top twenty (20) overall finishers (regardless of class) will receive points toward the yearly Championship.
The top 10 Overall Championship of the previous year will be allowed to display their earned number on their motorcycle. The top 10 overall will be designated as "Pro" Class riders.

It is the responsibility of the series to score these riders properly. It is the rider's responsibility to display the proper number plate with legible numbers. Only those riders earning Championship numbers may display them.

- CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

In order to be eligible for Championship points, a rider must finish at least two (2) events in the top 20 of their class. Championship class points will be based on the following points schedule.
